I stopped with my hand reaching into the fridge, hovering over the vodka, when I saw to my horror that my fingers wrapped themselves around the vials of blood instead.

Behind me I heard a voice.

"You could start with the mustard first if you haven't acquired the taste for it yet."

But I had.

I needed to know how each vial tasted at the very bottom.

After I had emptied the tiny vials, I knew that wouldn't be enough.

Now I wanted more.

The voice spoke once more behind me.

"Ahhh, now that is what the vodka is for. Bring it and I will show you how."

But I swear, I have no clue what happened to Freddy. He just said that he was going for some onions and never came back. Well yes, that is my knife, but I swear I don't know how it got there. It was just right here with me a minute ago. But I was right here the whole time! In fact, I was waiting on the onions he went to grab for my risotto. If you don't believe me you can just ask Margot, she will back that up because she needed onions too.

Wait.

What?

What do you mean 'Where's Margot?'.

Mechanically fumbling his fingertips over the edges till he reached each center and pressed down gently, counting each button as he pressed them, and each time as he pressed them. His mouth moved almost silently as he counted and in rhythm with each press of the button.

Samantha watched him from a distance, glancing at a man 'lost in space' to her casual observation. She had no clue as to why this man was dialing in on himself, or what his motivation behind the confusing behavior.

Curious, and beyond her better judgement, she crept closer.

It was then that she noticed the slight movement of his lips as he moved his fingers, stopping in a random order to press each button twice. Straining to hear what he was saying she crept even closer.

She heard a faint whisper as his mouth moved but no sounds came out, only colors emerged from his lips. They trailed forth as a sea of stars in brilliant shades of amber and blues, each holding tiny galaxies within. Suddenly he stopped, his mouth froze on the color amber and curled into a smile as his face rose to meet her gaze.

He smiled at her and said "Blue".
